  • WHO WE ARE

Developing Young Athletes with Big League Potential

GM and Coach Tony Hubbard is a proud Diamond Heel Alumni, father of Jackson Hubbard (the reason I took on the academy) and we aim to bring the legacy of the ACC and SEC style training programs to Brooklyn and my son Jackson. Our local coaches are using their entire network to bring access to the best baseball minds in the world to Brooklyn.

We are building the programs, the camps, the techniques with the best in NYC, USA and Internationally. Brooklyn simply hasn’t had enough baseball coaches, experienced talent or even baseball fields to produce the proper environment to fall in love with and get great at the game.

    Tony Hubbard

    Brooklyn, NY

Tony Hubbard is the Head Coach and Program Director of Williamsburg Baseball Academy and the driving force behind its rapid growth into one of Brooklyn’s premier youth baseball programs.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Tony earned his degree in Exercise and Sports Science with minors in Mathematics and Psychology. At UNC, one of the nation’s top academic and athletic institutions, he competed in both varsity and club baseball environments, gaining exposure to high-level training systems, strength programming, and player development models that now shape WBA’s structure.

Before UNC, Tony was an All-State pitcher and outfielder, finishing his senior season with a batting average above .450. His experience competing at a high level as both a two-way player and student-athlete informs his approach to teaching mechanics, preparation, and competitive mindset.

Tony founded WBA with a simple but ambitious vision: deliver elite-level baseball training in a structured, character-driven environment without sacrificing fun, accessibility, or community connection. Since launching in February 2025 with just three players, the program has grown into sold-out summer camps, multiple seasonal sessions, and a maintained 5:1 coach-to-player ratio that ensures meaningful individual attention.

His coaching philosophy is rooted in biomechanics, efficient movement patterns, and long-term athletic development. He prioritizes clean throwing mechanics, controlled rotational hitting patterns, and intelligent defensive positioning, always emphasizing repeatability and injury prevention. Beyond technical instruction, Tony teaches baseball IQ, leadership, emotional control, and accountability.

Parents value his organization, communication, and high standards. Players respond to his clarity, energy, and belief in their potential. His goal is not only to prepare athletes for travel baseball and advanced competition, but to develop confident young leaders who understand how to compete with integrity.

Under Tony’s leadership, Williamsburg Baseball Academy continues to set a higher standard for youth baseball training in Brooklyn and beyond.
